If you want to work faster and more efficient, it’s important to have an organized folder structure. You DON’T have to use this one, but you SHOULD have one – something – anything.  Besides, your AE folder structure is like an underwear drawer.  Keep it clean?

Here’s a little script to help quickly make folders in an After Effects project.  These are the folders I use on a consistent basis, but you can always delete some, rename a few or not even use this script but it’s free and who doesn’t like free!

Install:

(Windows) Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects <version>\Support Files\Scripts
(Mac OS) Applications/Adobe After Effects <version>/Scripts

To run the script:

File > Scripts > Quick Folders

Enjoy!

BUT WAIT!  THERE’S MORE!

I’ve also included an After Effect Template Project with the folder structure already made.  It also includes the Folder Generator Script too.

Handy Tip!

If you’d like to load a template as a default (or any template that you desire), you can have After Effects load one automatically!

In After Effects:

Edit>Preferences>New Project>Load that baby up!

DOWNLOAD AE SCRIPT
