If you want to work faster and more efficient, it’s important to have an organized folder structure. You DON’T have to use this one, but you SHOULD have one – something – anything. Besides, your AE folder structure is like an underwear drawer. Keep it clean?
Here’s a little script to help quickly make folders in an After Effects project. These are the folders I use on a consistent basis, but you can always delete some, rename a few or not even use this script but it’s free and who doesn’t like free!
This file is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, expressed or implied. In no event shall the author be held liable for any damages arising in any way from the use of these scripts.
(Windows) Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects <version>\Support Files\Scripts
(Mac OS) Applications/Adobe After Effects <version>/Scripts
To run the script:
File > Scripts > Quick Folders
HERE'S A HANDY TIP!
If you’d like to load a template you dig as a default (or any template that you desire), you can have After Effects load one automatically!
In After Effects:
Edit>Preferences>New Project>Load that baby up!
